Returns & Refunds

At Modern Potters, we strive to ensure your complete satisfaction with your purchase. Our return policy is designed to accommodate the various policies of our suppliers while providing you with a straightforward process.

General Return Policy

  1. Return Window: 30 days from receipt of merchandise, unless otherwise specified by the supplier (See Below)
  2. Authorization: Contact us at 844-576-8837 or hello@modernpotters.com for a Return Authorization before returning any item.
  3. Condition: Items must be in new condition with all original packaging and accessories.
  4. Shipping Costs: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect.
  5. Refund Process: Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll email you to confirm that your return has been processed.

Supplier-Specific Policies

Evenheat (30 days)

  • Return window: 30 days following customer receipt of merchandise.
  • Requires a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number visible on the outside of return shipping boxes.
  • 10% restocking fee applies, except for merchandise sent in error by Evenheat.
  • Original shipping costs are not refunded unless the merchandise was sent in error.
  • Returns without an RMA number may be subject to disposal after 30 days without compensation or notification.

Speedball (30 days)

  • Return window: Contact Speedball Customer Service within 30 days of receipt of merchandise.
  • Returns accepted only for shipping errors, damage, or defective merchandise.
  • 15% restocking fee may apply for exceptional returns where Speedball is not at fault.
  • Returns must be in current packaging and resalable condition.
  • No returns accepted for obsolete, imprinted, or custom items.
  • Customer must provide: name/company name, product location, invoice/PO number, list of items to be returned, and reason for return.

Jen Ken Kilns

  • Most products are custom-made and not eligible for return.
  • 20% checkout and restocking fee for any electrical item, including kilns, if return is accepted.
  • Customer is responsible for return freight costs and insuring items shipped to Jen-Ken Kilns for loss or damage in transit.

Olympic Kilns

  • Warranty must be activated by registering your purchase.
  • Defects must be reported in writing within six days of discovery.
  • Damage during delivery must be reported within 24 hours, you have the right to refuse shipment due to damages.
  • Customer is responsible for dismantling, packaging, and shipping costs for warranty claims.
  • Warranty doesn't cover use of different electrical voltages or firing materials other than ceramics and glass.
  • For delivery damage: customer can refuse delivery if freight appears damaged, should check item count, note shortages on delivery receipt, and open all cartons immediately to check for concealed damage.

Additional Notes

  • Custom orders, certified pre-owned, or used products are not eligible for return.
  • Products purchased for temporary use (e.g., trade shows) are not eligible for return.
  • Specific product exceptions will be noted in the product description.
  • Missing items: Contact us via email (hello@modernpotters.com) as soon as you notice, and we will ship those items immediately.
  • Order cancellations: Contact customer service immediately to avoid return shipping fees. Full refund if canceled before shipment; subject to return policy and shipping costs if canceled after shipment.
  • No restocking fee is applied by Modern Potters (supplier fees may still apply).
