Description

Forge Precision with the Hot Shot Knife Makers Kiln - HS18K

The Hot Shot HS-18K is designed alongside blacksmiths and knife makers to bring you precision, safety, and reliability in one compact unit. With its 18″ deep chamber, Cool-Touch exterior, and side-mounted heating elements, you can heat treat blades evenly from tip to tang while keeping your shop safe.

Built for hobbyists and professionals alike, the HS-18K eliminates the hassle of outsourcing your heat treating. Its even heat distribution, full swing door design, and intuitive controls let you work smarter and faster — whether you’re perfecting one knife or processing several.

The 120V model reaches 2000°F in 50 minutes (2200°F in 1 hour 40 minutes), while the 240V version achieves 2200°F in just 30 minutes. Add an optional Argon Gas Kit to prevent surface scaling and keep your blades pristine.

Key Features of the Hot Shot HS18K Knife-Making Oven

  • Long 18″ Deep Chamber: Accommodates longer blades and tools for efficient, uniform heat treating.
  • Max Temperature 2200°F (1204°C): Supports a full range of knife steels and heat-treating cycles.
  • Even Heat Distribution: Side-mounted elements ensure consistent temperatures without hot or cold spots.
  • Quiet Drive SSR (Now Standard): Silent, precise temperature control with longer element life.
  • Cool-Touch Technology: Dual-layer enclosure keeps exterior surfaces safe to handle.
  • Controller Options: Novus (standard), Spark touchscreen, or TAP II with app-based programming.
  • Programmable Alarm: Alerts when your setpoint or program stage is reached.
  • Safety Door Switch: Automatically cuts power to elements when the door opens.
  • Full Swing Side-Opening Door: Opens smoothly with a stainless steel handle for safe, one-handed operation.
  • Dual Rear-Mounted Cooling Fans: Maintain consistent airflow and temperature stability throughout operation.
