The Jen-Ken AF3P Crucible 1813 Glass Kiln is your go-to for serious glasswork. With its large 18" x 13" chamber, you can melt more cullet at once, reaching 2300°F for melting and maintaining steady temperatures between 2050-2100°F when you're ready to gather.
Managing your working cycle is straightforward - melt your cullet, bring it down to 1800°F for the squeeze, then back up to gathering temperature. Between sessions, hold at 1800°F to keep your glass ready.
The digital controller makes these transitions smooth and predictable, helping you maintain consistent working temperatures all day.
QUICK NOTE: Electric Crucible Kilns are designed specifically for melting cullet and are not suitable for making glass from batch, as the caustic fumes produced can cause rapid deterioration of the thermocouple and kiln brick. Coils typically last three to six months in crucible kilns and are not covered under warranty.
